We handle your compliance. And we defend your file.

In the Dominican Republic, the firm that keeps your books and the firm that defends them are almost never the same. Clients find that out at the worst possible moment. Here they are the same.

The difference

When your books and your defense are in different hands.

Few companies notice until the notice arrives. This is the difference, moment by moment.

Structure

Four practices, one client file.

Each practice answers for its own technical work. Coordinating between them is the firm’s responsibility, not yours: what the audit team observes reaches the tax team before an assessment does.

Judgement
Most companies do not lose a case because of what they did. They lose it because of how they documented it.

Carlos A. Martínez Portes · Founding partner. He created and led the DGII’s Tax Fraud and Tax Crime Investigation Division, established in 2017 with technical assistance from the United States Treasury.

You will know who handles your account before you engage us.

Compliance

Calendar of filing obligations.

Of the eighteen firms we reviewed in the Dominican market, none publishes this. It is the page your accountant will check every month.

Insights

What the firm publishes is the proof of what it knows.

The lecture hall, the opinion page and television produce technical judgement every week. Publishing it is what turns it into something a client can read before calling.

How we start

Three steps before the first month of work.

You will know what we will do, who will do it and what it will cost before you sign anything.

01

Assessment

A thirty-minute conversation with a practice director. We review your situation and tell you what we see. If there is no work to do, we tell you that too.

02

Written proposal

Scope, the named team assigned and the fee, in a single document. What is not written in the proposal is not part of the engagement, which avoids the end-of-month argument.

03

Engagement letter and start

Once the engagement letter is signed, your file has a named person accountable from day one, and you know whom to write to.

Contact

Thirty minutes is usually enough to know whether there is exposure.

We review your situation before proposing an engagement. If there is no work to do, we tell you.
